BIcicle Race 08 and Art Shanty Projects are bringing ice racing to Medicine Lake.
Races are open to all riders and types of bicycles, tricycles, ect. Be creative, there are alot of things that will stick to ice that can be stuck on tires. Races will begin at about 1:00pm and end around 3:00pm. Track testing will be allowed before and between races. There will be up to three races per week (depending on the number of participants) each Saturday, January 19-February 16. The winners of each race willcompete in the Championship Race on February 23.
A warming house will be available for both spectators and racers.
Prizes will be awarded to all winners. A Championship belt and trophy will be awarded to the ultimate winner which will be expected to be defended in 2009.
A bicycle only shuttle will leave from The Soap Factory to the lake each Saturday at noon as it may be tricky stuffing four people and the bikes in a Honda. The shuttle will leave the lake for the Soap Factory at 4:00pm.
